Pro Tip for Office Documents on the Mac

If you're like me, your professors don't know how to distribute PDFs, only Word Documents, which are a pain in the ass on the Mac. By default, they'll open in Pages, which always pops up a “Review conversion warnings” sheet (ten points to anyone who knows how to disable that!).

Instead, you can just make the document files open in Preview.app:

1. Right click on the file in the Finder and pick “Get Info”.
2. Click the “Open With” drop down and pick “Preview”
3. Click the “Change All” button below.
4. You'll have to repeat this with both *.doc and *.docx files.

Now your Word documents open in Preview. Nice.
