While we’re on the topic of videos, here’s an incredible 30 minute documentary on Vimeo chronicling the adventures of Steve Duncan as he and the director explore the forgotten — and breathtaking — underground systems of New York City:
Steve and I just completed another underground expedition with Norwegian explorer Erling Kagge. It was featured in a three page article on the front page of the NY Times metro section and was written by Alan Feuer. We were also covered by NPR’s Jacki Lyden whose report will be aired on ½/11 and posted on NPR’s site.
The video is fascinating and kind of gives you the feeling of being in one of those dreams where you’re inside somebody else’s house, and you know you shouldn’t be, so you’re struggling to not get caught. There’s probably a word for that, but I can’t find one suitable. This documentary, however, embodies the feeling.
